Cuba!

Dear Sistahs: We just returned from Cuba and we can barely find the words to describe the beauty, dignity and spirit of the Cuban People. On our trip, we experienced the Cuban people and learned about their public health care system. We had the opportunity to talk with health and education workers. We toured clinics, a school, senior centers, cultural arts programs, and a very special treatment center for mentally disabled children. We also walked the streets of Habana, talked to the people, sang and danced to the beautiful music and made friends and extended family. We were able to make this journey by joining the Pastors for Peace delegation. Pastors for Peace has been taking medication to the children of Cuba for many years. Going in this way us an opportunity to not only witness Cuba for ourselves…but to be of services. When we left, we promised ourselves that when we came back, we would bring more of our sisters with us. There is much to learn (in spite of the U.S. embargo, a baby is more likely to be born alive there then in the U.S.) and much to do. Peace & Blessings, Kathryn & RoLanda
