Kathryn Hall-Trujillo is best known for her work as founding director of The Birthing Project. In the process of helping women learn how to support each other through the experience of birth, she has become a spiritual midwife who is dedicating her life to helping women learn to birth themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. Her ministry is housed in Feather Dancing, a temple without walls, where she strives to create a space for the care and nurturing of the human spirit. Kathryn loves to facilitate ceremonies to help groups establish intention, trust and common ground; lead women on retreats to beautiful places and conduct rites of passages that celebrate the seasons of our lives. Kathryn is also the founder and Director of The Center for Community Health and Well-Being, Inc. The Center is a holistic health and social service agency that houses a comprehensive women's health care clinic, including substance abuse services, The Barber Shop (employment, parenting education and social support for fathers); the Saturday Morning Beauty Salon (pregnancy prevention for adolescents) and the nationally acclaimed Birthing Project SisterFriend Program. The Center is also the home of Birthing Project USA, a national model for improving birth outcomes for African American women. Kathryn Hall received her Baccalaureate (BA) and Masters of Public Health (M.P.H.) at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and her Doctor of Divinity at Metaphorum Ministries.
